How long for license??

Hey everybody...

I graduated on May 19, and the school submitted my name to the NYSBON that same day. Does anyone know about how long it will take to get my ATT for the NCLEX? I'd already registered with the BON and Pearson Vue before graduation. Is there a standard-ish length of time before I hear from Pearson and get to pick a test date???

I graduated May 19th to, I got my Att within a couple days, I already took the NCLEX. It seems to vary

Did you go LPN to RN? I already thought you were working as an RN?

This thread is 2 years old; I've been working as an RN since August 2006.

Hi Elizabells

I see that your specialty is NICU, do you work as a NICU nurse? If you do what is a best way to get into that field? I always wanted to work there! but get mixed answers. Some teachers tell me to do med-surge first and others tell me to go right into NICU since it's so specialized.

I also have other areas that I would not mind to work at like L&D and burn unit. Should I go for it or just take what is offered to me just to get my feet in the door?

Any suggestions would help, thanks

LETS CHECK OFF SOME BLOCKS FOR YOU :) :coollook:

[ ] Did you send in your check/money order for licensure and money to practice with limited permit

[ ] To This address Office of the Professions

89 Washington Avenue

Albany, NY 12234

[ ]Your college should have passed out these forms for you to fill and send them out... but you can always go to the human recourses office to get them, as they did for me through the computer.

You have them fill out their protions and you fill yours in plus You Have to get it notarized by a Notary Public

Once Albany receives them and reviews your paper work...plus what the teacher had sent they will notify ParsonVue to have them send you that it is time to test and make appointment.

I myself will be following up on my paper work and try to help it get pused along.:banghead:

Well Good Luck I hope everything I said was not repeated by someone else or that the fact you knew....:" Just here to help
