How long should I wait?

I graduated May 18 2010 and passed my NCLEX. I have my license hot off the presses. Now I can't find a job. I know the economy stinks right now and new grad jobs are few and far between. I have applied to a couple of Versant programs and the application period just ended and now it is a wait and wait and wait.

Right before I got into nursing school I was laid off. I still am unemployed and I am going crazy sitting at home. In a previous life I was a medical assistant. How l long do I wait before I go back to being a medical assistant and still look for employment as a RN? I am also applying for CNA and LVN positions. I am starting to feel discouraged.

    I can't imagine not working so I would apply for whatever I could get NOW and continue searching for a nursing job. Good luck.
