How do you know if you've been reported?

I see so many people on here talking about the BON and hearing that they've been reported by their employer, etc. I'm in my states monitoring program and have been for the past year and I still have a little over a year left (I'm pregnant so apparently I'll be getting extended by 3 months while I'm out on maternity leave, which is absolute BS considering they'll continue testing me anyway). Anyway, I've never been contacted by the BON or The office of professional discipline to let me know I'm being investigated, etc. so I'm really curious if my job ever actually reported me? I just entered my states monitoring program because that's what I was told to do by my job (I still work at the same place). My issue wasn't diversion, it was alcohol. I have no AUD, was just hungover. Mistake on my part, I know. I just want to know how I would find out if I ever was reported.

What state are you in? More time for pregnancy even though you're still testing? That's crazy.  I was reported to the state monitoring program not the board.  I would never self report.

Do you have a workplace monitor? Perhaps they know you self reported?

In Washington, you can go to the BON web page and enter your license number. It will tell you if there is action against your license. Your state may have somethig similar.

I've never self-reported. I don't even have a SUD so I'd never report myself LOL. A coworker reported me to our supervisor because I "didn't seem like myself" ( I was slightly hungover, nor did this person even bother to talk to me first) & I had to undergo testing, and of course I popped positive for alcohol... I was out with friends on my ONE DAY off the night before. Whether my job reported me or not, I don't know. I was never contacted or anything for any type of investigation. My job just told me to apply for this program, so I did. I've been in it for a year now, so I have my monitor and everything set up already. I just wanted to know if there was a way to officially see if I was reported or not because my license is clean when I look it up.

Where do you look up your license?

@Healer555 you said you got reported to the state monitoring program. What was the outcome?

I got a horrible monitoring agreement.  I think when I'm done there's no public record

@Healer555 if you don't mind me asking what happened? I recently got reported to BON for being intoxicated but my drug screens and BAC neg. Do you think I have anything to worry about?

During my 45+yr career experience,  BON contact can take months for nurses to be notified report made unless criminal activity occurred;  however, disciplinary action only appears online until final BON case determined.  License information is PUBLIC in all states.

States that are part of the nursing compact: verify a nurse license status at NURSYS. Otherwise, search using "Verify a < state name> Professional's License" to obtain non-compact states license info..

PA's license verification : https://www.PALS.pa.gov   any disciplinary action located underneath persons name and license status. PA's monthly list of Professional Licensing Disciplinary Actions   can be checked for latest BON report.

Only time I've received contact from BON was when I forgot to report Delaware license (gave up in 1992) on PA renewal application  -- auto letter received 24hrs later, submitted response, took 25 days to get reinstated.

@NRSKarenRN it took about a month before I got notified I had to decide if I wanted diversion program or an investigation

I don't like to give specific information. I don't have a sud and did nothing wrong.

You'll get an evaluation . We're you taking a controlled substance?
