How to get into a nursing program

I am a international student who will be doing a health studies program at ccp starting January 2018. My aim is to get into the asn program, but I am not sure how to go about doing it. I figured getting into the health studies program would be the best way to get the prerequisites needed but not all is found in the health studies program. I don't quite understand how US colleges operate so help please.
