I am sure it's doable, but how hard will it be? I started taking prereqs in the fall of 09 for the ADN program. Since I had been out of school for 13 years and had 4 children, it would have been impossible for me to finish all these prereqs in one year. Instead I took it slow (two classes per semester) and it took me two years to complete them. I will start NS at the end of Aug. However, I still have 3 non nursing classes left. So this fall (semester 1)I will take Foundations of Nursing plus Intro to organic Chem (2 credit hours). Then next spring 2012 (semester 2) I will take Nursing Agency I, Nutrition (3 credit hours) and Microbiology Lab (1 credit hour) I am taking the lecture part of Micro now, but considering they only have 40 spots available for lab, I can't get in until next spring. Then semester 3 and 4 will be just nursing classes.

You can do it. I too have 4 children and last semester I took 18 units and made the deans list. It's hard to make it all work out with the craziness 4 kids can bring, but if you want it bad enough you will figure out a way. I have younger kids, so I did all my studying and work after they went to bed. Good luck, you can do it!
It was hard at times, I got a babysitter to study for finals and midterms. Some nights I was up until 2 am, only getting 3 hours of sleep. I got in, thats what matters to me.

yes, it will be hard. You will have to learn to manage your time and set priorities. HOWEVER, the number 1 & 2 issues we have with new grads is they do not know how to manage their time or set priorities. So by the time you graduate you will be ahead of the game. Good luck. You sound motivated.
