I am waiting to hear whether or not I've been accepted to the nursing classes for Fall 2009. I've already completed everything as a pre-req and just need the core nursing classes and pharm to graduate with my ADN. My question is this: Our local hospital gives classes on such things such as Basic Trauma Care and how to deal with patients that are addicted to drugs/alcohol/etc. Do you think it would be good to take some of these classes over the summer or do you think this might confuse me between the way the hospital trains and the way we are supposed to learn at school? I'm trying to get a head start before I actually do the nursing classes and since we are going to be doing clinicals at this hospital, it's a good idea to get used to the way they do things? What do you think?
