Of all of the nursing jobs you've had, have you been completely honest in your exit interview?
What was your REAL reason for leaving the job, and what did you SAY was your reason?

I told them the reason I was leaving was because I was moving. The fact is that 3 of the staff people I worked with were so utterly obnoxious that I couldn't stand to spend another day in their presence. :)
I wasn't honest because I figured it'd burn bridges. Facilities last but obnoxious people seldom do. :chuckle

I have left a total of 6 jobs in my 28 -year nursing career. Only once did I have an actual exit interview. I was honest because I knew I would not be coming back there and I was very unhappy with the situation.
I've left the other jobs for a mixture of reasons, some positive ... some not. There were always people within the institution who knew about the negative stuff, but I usually try to play the politics with a certain amount of grace and dignity to preserve my reputation.
