I wouldn't work for Brookdale again if they were the last employer on earth. Their pay is low for the amount of work they demand, and they are chronically understaffed. They're losing money right now, which is hard for a company that's all about the almighty dollar (and that's true of most big companies), but they also want their nurses to participate in their sales pitches. I was the Director of Health Services at one of their assisted living facilities and the Executive Director sent me out on sales calls. I also had to serve lunch with a napkin over my arm, which took me away from *nursing* tasks as well. I don't know if their home care department is as ridiculous as this, but knowing Brookdale as I do, I would look elsewhere for employment if I were you.
