Hi guys

My name is Tami.....

I wanted to say hi to all of you, and I totally respect you all for the job you are doing.

I am a pre-nursing student myself, and hopefully will have my BSN in hand in 4 years. (2 years to get my pre-reqs, and 2 years for the degree)

My son is inspired and also has an interest to be a nurse. It started when I became an EMT a few years ago. He's turning 14 on the 21st. If any of you have advice that I can give to him regarding school or what he can do in the mean time... I would appreciate it. I thought about signing him up on the board to talk directly to you and get advice.... but dont remember what the age limit is here.

Hope all is well - God Bless

Hello to you too!

I would see if any of the A&P books and subjects you will invariably work on, interest him.

If I could impart you to any particular advice, it is more for you then him. It is something that if I could go back and talk to my parents about, I would.

It is great that he is interested in nursing, and if at his age he is inspired to go into this field, by all mean encourage him. Support him, even if it isn't your plan. I found my family pushing me into college, and that I wasn't doing it for myself but for them instead. Encourage him to make decisive action about his future, and allow him to proceed in his time. He must do it for himself for him to truly succeed.

Best of luck with college and thanks again for dropping in.
