HHC

Can someone tell me what are some good Home Care Agencies in NJ? I want to transition to this field from LTC. Can anyone please give me tips of a typical day as a home healh nurse from admission to discharge? What do you have to do on Supervisory visits?

Bayada and Visiting Nurse's of New Jersey are the first two that come to mind.

Thanks

I'm a hhc for many agencies. I started with basic adult care ( like geriatrics) and moved onto trach and vent care, the. Pediatrics and pedi trach vent and I love it. I book the hours I want to work. I come in ( going into a clients home in the beginning can take some getting used to) assess the client, take vs, go over notes and mar. Admin meds, feed, wash, dress, go for walk, play, maybe school, sometimes you can drive the client to the mall or wherever they would like to go, just think of it as spending the day with a family member who needs a little help. Some days are defiantly trying. If the person crashes it's just you, but you got it, your a trained professional! You enjoy your job more because you can give your client the care and time they need and the pay is comparable!
