HESI exam for RN program in MN

Published

So I have to take the HESI for a tech community college in MN for the RN program - just wondering what it compares to the TEAS test. I took the TEAS test 3 times (super hard for me) so curious what the HESI is like. Anyone can give me advice? I ordered a study guide for the test, did a few practice problems and seemed to be a lot easier than the TEAS, but would like to hear any comments/suggestions who have taken it. :) Oh fyi - they just scheduled me to take the test in 3 weeks.

Thanks!

Hi! I took the HESI last spring for a BSN program in MN. I have never taken the TEAS but I have classmates who did. They said the TEAS was much easier.

advice on the HESI- the study guide is good for the non-science questions. Study extra for A&P. They will ask you a bunch of random questions that aren't covered by the study guide in any way. Take the guide as a jumping off point and go more in depth.

What sections are you required to take?

Thanks for responding! It said on my letter I'm taking everything... but I may call and ask because that doesn't sound right. Did you do well on the HESI? What did you think of the test?

Thanks for the advice about the study guide - I just got done with my A&P courses so I'm pretty fresh on that.

I got a 94 on the HESI. We only had to take A&P, math, vocabulary, reading comprehension and a fifth one that is escaping me at the moment. All the portions in the study guide were fine except A&P. Good luck!

I thought the test was pretty easy but some students didn't pass certain portions. In the study guide math portion I was very concerned about doing long division with decimals and such but it turns out there is a calculator. Make sure you go over how to divide and multiply fractions. You might have to take all portions but every school is different. There is a physics portion and I'm glad we didn't have to take that!

Ok thanks!! :) Great score! Wow, hope I can get that!

Hey Andrea, did you take the HESI recently? How did you study for the Critical Reading section, if you had take it? Thanks!
