help visa application for Canada

Published

Hi everyone! I have applied for the june 2009 crne. CRNM sent me a letter to be presented to the chief visa officer. I have no idea what kind of visa they will give me. I don't know how to proceed with my visa application. :crying2: Do I need to send the letter by mail to the embassy or do I need to send it in person? Please help me. I can't concentrate on my review.

By the way, I'm from the Philippines.

If you are just going to sit the CRNE then you have to apply for a tourist visa. This link explains all you need to know about applying for a visa http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/apply-how.asp

Hi,

Registration in your respective college and visa processing are two different things. I believe you have two options. First is the temporary resident visa "tourist visa", secondly the temporary work visa.Check this website:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp

Just my 2 cents, I think the temporary resident visa is applicable to you.Is is more realistic.( less than a month of processing). If you will apply for temporary work visa, you should consider the processing time, for Philippines, an average of 12 weeks processing is noted. You mention you intend to take CRNE this June.

I am surprised you did not anticipate or made early research :typingregarding the visa to be used before or during your registration, you must be consumed on completing the registration requirements.

Goodluck !:saint:

Are they not requiring you to take the SEC assessment or their bridging program prior to sitting the CRNE exam? May I know if we can apply a temporary work visa in Canada? I'm planning of taking a student visa in Canada and if CARNA requires me to do additional schooling I'll shift my course to the said requirement. But it too much costly average tuittion in canada for international students is $8-10k CAD yearly. huhuhu it's a pain for my family.

There are as far as I am aware a couple of options to come to Canada. Temp work permit (TWP), PNP (which varies from province to province), Application for permanent residency (which can take several years and still has a criteria) and spouse (marrying a Canadian citizen)

To get a TWP you need a job offer and for most jobs a LMO that the employer needs to apply for. As a nurse to get TWP you will need in most cases permission to sit CRNE as employers will expect there this before offering a job. Also to work in healthcare you need a medical before the TWP is issued.

I would suggest a good read on the CIC website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/index.asp

Hi Silver dragon,

I need your opinion. I got a letter from my registration body college of nurses in BC and said that im entitled for exam and to apply for interim visa in order to work. But to obtain interim visa should get work permit and work permit u don't get if you don't have registration means to pass the exam. My question is can i work in canada without registration exam? cos all agencies don't hire if the applicant doesn't have registration. Did u work before u pass the exam.

tell me about your experience please i need help. I'm afraid if come to Canada and don't find work how can i live without any financial support .The exam will be in dec but im not ready i didn't find a material in Europe so i get from net.Tell me please what i have to do to come to Canada before I pass the exam? How long takes to get a job after u got registration?

regards

If you have eligibility to sit exam then look for employers in the areas you want to live, once you have employer you can apply for TWP and once that is sorted can sort temp license with province. As long as you have eligibility and employer you can apply for TWP. Agencies may say otherwise but you do not need an agency.

Be aware economics is tough in Canada at the moment and you may struggle to find employer as Canadian citizens and permanent residents will come first (as they should) Which exam are you sitting as CRNE isn't in Dec as in Oct, Feb and June?

hi

registration exam i think be will next year, i cant sit on dec cos i didnt find material for the exam?

u didn't answer me the questions. please be kind and answer :did u work before u sit the exam ?

did u find employers to hire u?

employers without registration don't hire is difficult.

please tell me how u did? did u pass exam first or worked and than passed the exam

did u pass the exam from first time? when u came to Canada

how u find the the house did u have friends before u came?

regards

My husband is the reason I am in NS and he is the one with the TWP. I have to do a couple of courses before I can sit the CRNE so busy doing the courses so on a student visa.

We have had several members that received eligibility, found employer and worked in Canada before sitting the exam. Yes it is difficult finding employer which is why I told you to wait for eligibility before looking. Most will want to know you are eligible before offering work. Many jobs I have seen advertised will accept application if you have eligibility to sit CRNE

Have you tried searching this forum for posts so see who has managed it as there are several threads discussing working in Canada?
