I'm a foreign BSN Graduate Nurse last Oct.2006. I took my NCLEX last jan.2008 and unfortunately I didn't make it. The contents of the exam were difficult for a new nurse like me 'coz first of all, Nursing practice here is far far different from the practice I had in my country of origin, which is the Philippines. There were some medications that I haven't heard of and it does exist. And there were lots of priority questions which I haven't encountered in the review materials I have, this is why maybe I failed.
My point is, is it advisable for me to apply for work as a Graduate Nurse or as an LPN for the mean time so I'll be able to see the real picture of a clinical setting? If yes, do you know any hospital or even Nursing Homes who hires a newly BSN graduate still unlicensed until the next schedule NCLEX?
Thanks..Pls advise me on what's the best thing to do..tnx:uhoh21:
