HI! I am new to posting here have been reading on this site for awhile! I am an R.N. and have worked in LTC and was the ADON for awhile til dx with M.S. I became disabled. I recently went back to this LTC facility working two days a week doing pyschotropic assessments and restraints etc. Now they have me doing chart audits 10 weekly as a part of a plan of correct from a survey. The administrator wants me to give him a summary of my finding and how they pertain to the plan of corrections? any advice this is new to me !!!!!!!!!!!!! IF you need more info i would be happy to supply it if anyone would be willing to give me some suggestions! thanks

First off...get a copy of the survey with all the citations and a copy of the facility's plan of correction. Then make yourself some audit tools. For example, during our last survey, we were cited on DNR's and Healthcare Proxies. We did an audit to ensure all DNR's had orders, progress notes, and a Massachusetts Comfort Care Form. The audits are kept in a book and the findings are reported to the PI committee. I'd be glad to help with any more suggestions...I've been doing this for years.
Thanks i appreicate your help!!!!!! went in to work friday and the administrator must have been reading my mind because he had a form all printed out for me to use that he wanted filled out !!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO i can say i have it!!!!!!!!!! But who know they where there for a complaint not survey !!!!!!!!!!!!! I forgot so our regular survey is coming up and those suggestion might help!!!!!!!!!I am sure i will be back with more question! thanks again!
