Ok...I'm getting so confused with all the information that i see.
Tell me what are these tests for?
NCLEX-RN: once you pass the NCLEX-RN... are you a RN?
Whats the NLN? like an entrance exam to nursing school?
:confused::confused:

Yes and yes.
There is a wealth of info on this forum. Use the search button for either term. You will find more than you can imagine.

Graduation from nursing school is ONE requirement for meeting the criteria of eligibility to take the NCLEX. There is a test for RN graduates and vocational nurse (LVN or LPN) graduates. Once you pass the test you are awarded a license by the state and may sign your name with the appropriate letters.
The NLN is the National League of Nursing. Google them. They create all sorts of tests and even have standards for accreditation of nursing schools. Some schools require entrance exams and others do not. The ones who do require them may or may not use the ones created by NLN.
Hope this helps.

Here's another question... I have asked the college, but no one is giving me an answer, what math classes do I need for pre-req's? I have a BSN of Arts- going into the nursing program- 12 years late! LOL!
This information should be in the school catalog under the degree requirements for the nursing degree. Also, your advisor should be able to answer. You will probably need at least one semester of algebra, but I would be sure to sign up for the right class.

There should be no reason why the college can't tell you. That makes no sense. But you should be able to find it in the college catalog. Also, because you already have a degree, you may already have the math requirement you need. The fact that it has been 12 years since you were in school, you may have a problem because many schools put a time limit on the age of the class. At my school, if you took a class more than 10 years ago, you will have repeat it. The best way for you to get the information taht you need is to speak to someone at the school. I find it hard to believe that you can't find anyone to help you. And if you truly can't, then I would consider another school that actually cares about its students.
