May 22, 201412 yr Hi talino! Please help. I'm pretty new with mds..I have a patient that came in last Mon but was sent to hospital the next day. Question is: should I combine 5 day assessment and discharge assessment with Ard set on tuesday? Please help!!thank you!
Jul 8, 201411 yr Author Btw, if you have to choose bet late interviews but timely ard vs late ard and late interviews which would it be? thank you!!
Jul 8, 201411 yr Like you said, interviews must be done on or before the ARD. "Late interview" is extraneous and should not be entered in the MDS. If missed, simply skip the interview and perform the staff assessment. You don't get penalized when an interview is not conducted unless it's prevalent. Good policy is to document why it was not done.
Aug 29, 201411 yr Author Hi everyone! Hi talino! Quick question..can I pick a patient back on medicare a (we are on a 3rd at window) for iv infusion antibiotic X 6th for c diff. Thanks!
Aug 30, 201411 yr Within 30 days, as long as the condition is related to the condition for which the resident received hospital services.
Aug 30, 201411 yr Author Thank you! Does he need to be in hospital for the iv infusion? I think it will only be for 6 days..would that matter? Yup. We're in the 30 day window.
Aug 30, 201411 yr Either I'm misleading you or simply misunderstanding your question. The current condition requiring IVF must have a relation to the condition for which the resident received treatment while in the hospital prior to admission to the facility when Med A was first initiated. The IV infusion must take place while a resident of the facility.
