Newly graduated BSN from Philippines. Planning to take NCLEX- RN in NY state.

Do I need to take/ passed local NLE in order to qualify to NY-NCLEX RN exam?

please help.

CGFNS- CVS stated in the but did not apply yet? wanted to be certain before opening an account/paying the fee.

It used to not be required however have you checked NY BON website? Should say something on the application form

I've read the section. It doesn't say they require it. But it say's if one has license outside US, they may may want to verify it, it is also accepted. Nothing is absolute prohibiting a person to apply for NY NCLEX-RN without local license or local board. it is done through CGFNS-CVS.

"While it is not mandatory for an applicant to utilize the services of CGFNS, the department recognizes that it is often very difficult, if not impossible, and time consuming for an applicant to effectively complete the application process independently and encourage applicants to consider utilizing that service." NYSED
