just recieved my very, very disappointing letter that I failed my ANCC Psych NP boards. I made straight A's in school and this failure feels HUGE right now. I guess I am in disbelief and mini-crisis right now. I studied pretty good and did well on the clinical stuff but there were a lot of questions on risk mgt, case mgt, utilization mgt, etc. that I had no material to study. I found a lot of prep courses for family Np's but none out there for psych NP's. Does anyone know of any material out there designed for Psych NP's? I only failed by 6 questions so I was close. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. I feel so bad right now. My co-workers really look up to me and I will be embarrased to tell them. Thanks so much.

Here is a resource: http://www.healthleadership.com/
I'm sorry, but please don't let it get to you too much. Consider it a trial run. You'll do better the next time...just you see.
I wish you the very best.

I know it's easy for me to say, but you should absolutely NOT feel bad about not passing--I've heard that the pass rate in past years has been lower than 50%. I know several psych NPs who didn't pass the first time. That should be enough to tell you that it's a very difficult test, (as it should be). I know a couple of NPs who attended a review course, so they are out there. I'll email them and find out the name of it. Keep studying and try to relax when you take it again.

Hi. I am planning to take the test this year. found two review courses, one offered by AACNP (the accreditation people) and the other go to http://www.npcourses.com. there is also a review manual on the aacnp web site. hope that helps and good luck to both of us.
