have a really important question to ask. At the beginning of february I sent in my application to the BNE to be able to sit for the NCLEX, well, on March 16 my name changed and I did not submit a name change through the BNE because I didnt know that applicants had to send in the information within 10 days and I wanted to avoid any confusion it may have caused. I thought it was only licensed nurses. Well, I sat for NCLEX under my previous name and passed (just found out saturday, yipeeeee!!!!). I went to the BNE website to find out how to submit for a name change, well I also found out that as an applicant I should have submitted it within 10 days..........now for my question............am I going to get into any kind of trouble for being so late? Are there any ramifications because of my delaying sending in the name change? The rule does not state that there are any consequences for going over the 10 days? I am really scared that I messed up and dont want to start my career that way.

Call the BNE and ask. When I married the first time I didn't change my name until a couple of years later and there were no consequences because I had been using my maiden name at work. As long as you're not using different names you should be okay, but call them to make sure.
And CONGRATS on passing!!!!

I got married a week after graduation, so what I did was not change my driver's license until after I passed the NCLEX. As soon as I got my license confirmed/posted on the BON's website, I printed out a name change form and sent it in with the required stuff, and a note that I can't send in the old license because you just issued it yesterday.
So for a week or two I had to sign my maiden name at work until the new license came in from the BON. It wasn't too bad.
