First of all, I believe you are making a huge mistake. Expect to wait many months before you are eligible to take the nursing boards. Depending on your home state you will have to jump through more hoops than if you attended college in the USA. Also you will be deprived of the networking you would have as a student in the USA.

As an American I believe the college experience is more than the classwork. It is an opportunity to learn life skills when living in a dorm and form life long friendships. Also in the USA you would be able to get additional experience by working in a hospital.

If finances are an issue get your ADN then you can work while you get your BSN.

I have a friend who did just that. Saved him a ton of money. He was able to come back to the US a few months after graduating and took the NCLEX without having to take the Philippine board. He had to apply for dual citizenship before studying in the Philippines though.

A disadvantage is you'll have less contacts in the US nursing profession.
