Hello All,
I took my quiz last Thursday and til today haven't been able to figure out the answer to the question below, so I'm hoping someone can assist me.
A child is given 12mL of medication 4 times a day. The bottle hold 16oz. How many days can you give the child the medication.
A.40
B.30
C.20
D.10
My guess was C. I know you must convert the mL to oz and then divide...right?

I got 10mL
12mL 4x/day is 48mL/day
16oz converts to 480mL (16oz x 30mL/1oz)
480mL / 48mL per day = 10mL/day
I'm not too great at these myself...correct me if I am wrong!

It's 10 days not mL's, the math is right just not the right labels...
Thanks...I must continue to work on my conversions!

Each day, the child needs: 12 mL x 4 doses = 48 mL.
The bottle of 16 oz = 16 oz x 30 mL/oz = 480 mL.
480 mL divided by 48 mL/day = 10 days

Thanks!

my answer is also 10 days
here's how:
1 oz = 30 ml
therefore 16 oz (30ml) is 480 ml
the child needs 12ml 4 times a day which means 48 ml/day
so: 480 ml
______ = 10 days
48 ml /day
hope this help and i love this site..
