Help for international nurses

World International

Published

Hello, my name is Silvia A. I am a register nurse, just have a year working at a private clinic in Costa Rica.

I want to take the NCLEX test, but, to do it I thing is better if I take some classes . So I was wondering if there is a hospital that helps foreign nurses to get ready to take the test and then give them a job. I can't just go to USA to live there because I want to do it right and legal. I am Costa Rican and need help. Save money in my country is really difficult because at the hospitals they don't pay too much. I saw that people from Philippines and other countries receive help, I don't understand why I can't find any help?

I hope you can give me a good advice...

God bless you. Silvia

I doubt with retrogression you will find any hospitals that will help you with sitting the exam. It is easier to find a employer once you have passed NCLEX and some hospitals will reimburse you once you have arrived in the US. I can not say I have seen any that help prior arriving in the US with licensure. If you check out the NCLEX forum there is much in the way of hints and tips plus Suzanne's sticky on her plan which apart from one book is free as long as you meet her requirements and all other stuff can be found in this forum

They are not getting help in other countries to sit for the exam, or anything else. They are signing with agencies that will be taking the money that was spent from their earnings, plus much more.

Even if you write the NCLEX exam tomorrow, and it is available in Mexico City for you; there are no visas available right now.

Not sure if you are aware of the fact, but you will not be applying to sit for that exam, rather you will be applying for licensure as an RN; the exam is only one part of the process.

Please read the Primer at the top of this page for information that you need to be aware of.

And best of luck to you.
