HELP! I think I have poor interviewing skills!

Over the last 2 months I have been to 4 interviews: 2 on telemetry units, one on an ortho unit, and one at a county correctional facility. I have received 2 rejections and am waiting to hear back from the other two. I am an RN-BSN with no experience, and I am going to another interview next week. I tend to get nervous before interviews, and I think it can come off as lacking confidence. Anybody have any tips to "sell myself" (for lack of a better term) at interviews? I feel like I already come off as caring and compassionate, but I feel like it hasn't been enough. Any help would be appreciated :)

Here's what I think. You must be doing something right to even get these interviews! Rejections happen because we can't be everything to everybody. If you are feeling overly nervous before your interviews just treat the inteview as if you are not planning on getting the position and this is only practice. It worked for me. Good luck with your search! I know something will work out for you soon.:p

My school offers interviewing critiques for their new alumni. A nursing staff member engages in a mock interview with the new grad, set up exactly like a real one. The resume is critiqued along with dress, demeanor, quality of answer, etc. The whole thing is videotaped and gone over afterward with tips on things to change. The new grad can do this as many times as they need to.

Does your school offer that kind of a service? I would ask if you don't know. Good luck!
