I just got my net exam results and I failed. I had a composite score of 753 with a 61%. I had set my sights on the BSN program at UT at Houston, or an ADN nursing program,at a community college. I cannot redo the exam, because i'm trying to apply for the fall 09 program and the deadline is Jan 15. The next net exam is Jan 17 way past the application deadline. I have 50 hrs of prerequisites completed with a 3.9 gpa. I only have 3 more classes to complete the 60hrs. prerequisites required. Since I messed up on the net exam, should I still go ahead and complete my application for the fall semester, or should I forget about the BSN UT program and concentrate on going to an ADN program?. Please be honest. Any advice, comments will be greatly appreciated.

My advice: Don't give up! First of all, Jan 15 to Jan 17 is only 2 days....take the test again. In the meantime, is there someone at the school you can talk to about this - counselor, advisor? It seems like you have everything else in place..think of this as a minor setback - but don't give up. I would still apply!

Thank you so much for your advice.

Be careful because some schools will only let you take the test once every 6 months. Check that also.

Here is the benefit to doing the ADN first: You can go ahead and start working sooner and usually get the hospital to pick up the tab for your BSN when you do the RN to BSN program.

Just a thought.
