Help! Had to push back course! stressed. Need ideas/opinions

Published

I just got my life back on track recently. I signed up for a CNA course in my area after MONTHS of searcing for a job and no luck! I was slated to start on Monday but my husband just lost his second job so we wont be able to afford it.

At the the end of the month we have to move out of our apartment and try to find one that is half the price! So in all reality we will probably have to move to some "dodgy" areas to achieve this. We have no children to worry about either.

We've been robbed before so we are trying to get out of this situation as soon as possible. I talked with the people at the CNA school and they said they will save me a spot for next month. Even then it will be a struggle to pay for it but we'll be able to do it!

I was just wondering if anyone who is familiar with the Bay Area has any advice of places I could look to find work even part time or any ideas. Anyone need a babysitterr out there in the Bay Area? I am very responsible and trust worthy.

Anyways any help would be appreciated or advice/suggestions. Even just encouragent! These are some tough times now. I need to get in all the advice I can before we shut down the internet

I would suggest looking on craigslist.. you can find a lot of listings for people who need nannys (at least in my area)... also, is there any way you can live with you or your husbands parents? Good luck..

I practically live on craigslist right now. I think Ive submitted myself to about 100 positions!. Hopefully will get some calls Monday. but if worse comes to worse we'll have to stay with some family.

My next CNA course starts Aug 10th and ends on the 28th...my lease is up Aug 30th so im hoping it wont take me long to find a position... My husband has a better job opportunity lined up as well so we're hoping that works out too..

just a stressful period in time right now...

hopefully its over soon..

damn economy

Do you have to live in the bay area? Cost of living there is so expensive even compared to wages. Perhaps you both could consider a different area of the state?

I went up north for nursing school for 9 months and while all these nurses bragged about how much money they make, their cost of living was ridiculous, and a lot of that extra money gets taken out in taxes.

I live in the inland empire (southern california) and almost make the same as my friend who works in northern california, but my housing is half the cost.

The economy is unfortunately affecting everyone right now, my husband has been out of work for almost a year.

I wish you luck!

Its funny you mention that..my husband has a very good job opportunity in the san joaquin valley where the housing is half! so god willing he will get that job out there!
