HELP! 1 class short of my degree!

I posted this in the General Student forum, but saw this one & thought I would cross post.

HELP!!! After pursuing my RN, and taking pre-req's at one school & attending another for my ADN, I am one humanities class short for my ADN. I plan to finish in December. The dilemma is further complicated by the budget situations in CA. The chances of any humanities classes being offered this summer is pretty low. I am trying to figure out where to get the lousy 3 units that I need. I would prefer an online class, where time away from home is minimal. Also, I would really like to do this before I start my last semester mid August. Any ideas where to look???? $$ is somewhat of a factor, but if I find something that works, I will figure that part out too. TIA

Any ideas???

I would go the CLEP route as well.

Any specific restrictions on what type of class it has to be? Are you limited to specific course titles? "Humanities" course really isn't very specific. If they will accept any english, history, or social science course, there are pleanty of online classes offered from hundreds of different colleges. May I suggest the University of Arkansas Global Campus? I took an Intro to Ethics class from there and things went smoothly.

+1 for CLEP. Also consider DSST/DANTES. If your school accepts both, there are many Humanities exams between the two.

I would highly recommend the Analyzing and Interpreting Literature CLEP exam. It was adequate for my ADN Humanities requirement at Excelsior college. It's 6 credits and is fairly straightforward and best of all affordable! :-)

See if your college has an instructional TV course. That may work for you. ITV essentially is watching a corresponding video and then attend one class a week for a number of yours. No one really knows what the budget crisis in CA is doing to local colleges. The summer schedule should be out or out shortly. You could also call the college to see what classes offered would fit into your schedule; meet with a college conselor. Humanties courses are general ed courses and may be easier to get than regular college courses.
