good day! this is my first to make a thread.:wink2: Is it possible for me to work in the U.S as a nurse without going thru an agency?I dont have a visa yet but I already passed the CGFNS and IELTS and will be taking the NCLEX this coming April. I have been looking up on different agencies here in the Philippines and I cant make up my mind yet. I read from the pass threads of the cons regarding having an agency to fix my papers. so does anyone know how to deal without an agency? Your reply is highly appreciated!
thanks!

Without having the NCLEX exam completed, you are not going to find any hospitals that will petition for you. They want to see that you have completed and passed that exam.
hi suzanne, thanks for the reply.:) just in case i passed the nclex, what should i do next if i decide not to go thru the help of an agency? how does the petition from u.s hospitals work? thanks for the reply in advance!
Please read the stickies at the top of this forum, they have all of the information that you need to know.
Soem states will be relatively easy to get direct placement, and others will be almost impossible in area that you want to work in.
Focus on getting the NCLEX done; without that, not one thing can be done.
Openings in hospitals are always changing, so until that exam is done, not one thing can be offered or done.

hi nindot, thanks for the info. i already have a visa screen certificate from passing the cgfns and ielts. my nclex is actually for california too. can i ask for the hospital in norwalk or just pm me if its ok with you? i'll be checking other hospitals located in california to know if they can petition foreign nurses. but i guess i have to pass the nclex first because i'm already scheduled this april in hk. thanks so much for taking time answering my queries. god bless you!
