I have been in the AF 6 months now a on the committee for our hospital's nurses week. I'm looking for suggestions of gift ideas and ways to raise $$$ to buy the gifts? We have about 120 poeple to buy for.

Bake sales are usually the most common way to raise money, but you should also contact different drug/medical device reps to see if they want to donate any items/funds/dinner/cakes etc.

If I may suggest something. I am a massage therapist and a future AF nurse. I have volunteered my time in the past couple of years to do chair massage for the nurses during nurses week. I provided this service in a civilian hospital and also in a military hospital. I have to say the nurses loved it. I had my massage chair and a cd player with me to provide some nice relaxing music. Usually I was set up in an empty room and stayed a few hours to try to cover most of the staff. I am going to do this again this year. So, you might want to call around and see if any massage therapist available in the area to provide such service. Most businesses are supportive and happy to give back to the nurses.:)

I was told that we can’t solicit donations and drop the AF name. All we can say is that we are a local hospital.

This is where it gets interesting, because no one is going to donate anything to you until you identify yourself (if for no other reason they have to know how to fill out their tax paperwork) and as soon as you say, "X Clinic" or "X Hospital" they KNOW who you are....it can get very sticky!
