I just joined this forum today. I am planning to attend Lancaster Career and Technology in September for LPN. It has been over 15yrs. since I have been in school. I am currently a full-time Mom of 3 girls, (ages 4, 3, and 1.5). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to study for the NET? I purchased the book "Nursing School Entrance Exam" by CliffsTestPrep. My friend who is a LPN (and went to the school) looked over it and said it is way too much info. She gave me all her books for school, but I do not know what to study or if I am studying too much. Anyone has any suggestions?

Hello! I just took the NET last month. You have got to get the study guide from eri world. I also purchased one of the study guides from a book store and it was nothing like the eri study guide or the test. I am so thankful that I got it! The eri study guide is exactly like the test!! Also...the reading comprehension is what most people fail. I am sure you will do great though! I am also trying for an LPN school in TN. I have been out of school for 8 years and have a 5 year old daughter! Good luck. If you have any questions about the NET by all means PM me!!

Hi and wecome. I have 2 girls myself, 6 and 10.
I took the test back in March, it wasn't as bad as I thought, I over studied, my study guides (bought from Barnes and nobles and books-a-million) contained vocabulary, biology, math, reading comprehension and some other stuff.
What was actually on my test was math- percentages, decimals, a little algebra, some word problems and fractions. A lot of converting decimals and percentages to fractions, etc. as well as reading comprehension which consisted of several passage (science related) and questions. There was also a section that asessed test taking skills and a personality test/stress test section.
Good luck to you.

I can't stress enough how much help the ERI world study guide will help you. It will prepare you for the test. The reading comprehension was the hardest at our school, but the math was not so bad (as long as you get the questions down pat that are in this book). It helped me tremendously with both parts of the test and it also has great steps to remembering all the little rules of vocabulary, math, etc.
