Hello from a new guy and a question

Hello, I am a second semester RN student at Northeast Alabama Community College. I found this site while looking for a website about nursing interventions and rationales for clinicals. I am trying to find a site that has interventions and thier rationales listed so I can do my reports and be prepared to take care of my patients. I know there is something out there but havent found it yet, any help will be extremely appreciated.

Hi Mark and Welcome to Allnurses. I am glad you found this site. I think this resource will help you in your studies during nursing school. There are many search engines that will assist you in finding the information you need. I would suggest searching on medline. In addition, if you have a care plan book, you will find nursing diagnosis, care rationales and interventions located within this book.

I am just getting back to school myself and once I find these resources (which I am doing right now), I will also try and post my results. The co-moderator VickyRN also has many resources that she has already posted on this forum in the past. Take a look at some of the old threads to see if these sites meet your needs.

Thanks for the reply. I have spent a lot of time looking for a site using many search engines with no luck. Mostly find ads for bookstores or college course listings. I will try to find something here on the archives.

Hi Mark,

I am in my third semester, and believe me, I had a fun time with care plans. I don't know of any websites with interventions and rationales but the book I use is a LOT of help. Its "Nursing Diagnosis Handbook: A guide to planning care", 6th ed, by Ackley and Ladwig. I don't know what I paid for it but it was a lifesaver for me!
