Hello, new to this forum.

Hello, im going to be graduating nursing in about a year, currently studying at York University. It has been hectic and defiantly difficult, but i guess i can say that i enjoyed my time here getting to know respectful professors as well as classmates. But before i graduate i want to ask you some questions..

Where do you work?

Is there anything you find particularly special about your work?

What do you dislike about your work?

Oh, and lastly, I have heard that recent crne candidates had a really high passing rate for last year (In June 2010, the pass rate for the 5,048 Canadian educated first-time CRNE writers was 87.9, taken from cna), is this statistically normal? (i was informed that only 50-60% pass the test)

Thank you for your help in advance.

Welcome.

Canadian educated nurses traditonally have a high CRNE pass rate. It's nurses educated in other countries that have difficulties.

My school had a 99% pass rate.

New grad. Haven't landed a job.

I think you need to compare the passing grades for the past couple years and the province you're going to write your CRNE in to see if it's "statistically normal." Here's CNO's CRNE stats. As you can see 78% of Ontario grads passed the test for 2010. By the looks of it, it seems like the passing rate has been slightly lower than previous years. However, the current CRNE exam was cut from 400 questions to 200 questions for the 2010-2015 CRNE testing. But then we can definitely argue that it's a different cohort so it might still be relevant in term of the candidates' knowledge and critical thinking. Good luck with your last year of nursing.
