hello from houston

hello to all the pinoy nurses and nurses to be in the pi. i am a pinoy nursing student here in houston. and just reading the forum here somehow uplift my spirits when i feel like i want to give up.

i know so many of the nurses there wants to pursue the american dream. and most of the time i am here complaining about how hard it is to study and have a family at the same time. when i read the forum here, i think about you guys, and how the process of getting here frustrates you.

i became a US citizen last year. and one of my accomplishemnt is bringing my parents here. they got here just 2 weeks ago. the process of their petition was just 8 months. they are here mainly to help me finish school. daycare is not an option for me because i am a paranoid mother.:uhoh3: my daughter just turned 2 by the way.

anyway, so much so for my life story...i have no reason to complain about how hard it is to study or how hard my everyday struggle is because it just doesn't compare to the struggles that the nurses in pi have specially the nurses waiting to get here in the US

to my fellow filipino nurses, i salute you, and you give me the strength to continue with my schooling and to finish it with flying colors.

Hi smile, i am a filipino also who live in texas and try to go back to school-lvn as for now. I can't enrol this year cause i need to get a hep and tb skin test and also take the net exam. I can't believe its soo hard to get enrol here not like in pi its so easy no need for vaccination and waiting just to go back to school.. too confusing sometimes. Bdw, what reading materials, books- tittle author, cd's or sample questions for the net test can we buy them online? i don't really know were to get them i need to study even thought got an accounting degree in pi still hard to find a job here in usa thats why i've decided to take lvn program as for now. I am not working now and no kids my husband will gonna pay for the tuition fee, books, uniform stuffs like that mainly everything cause i don't have an income. Do you know how much you think it will cost us the 12 month lvn? and seriously if you know were to buy reviewers guide please let me know will appreciate your reply. Thanks and Godbless to my fellow filipina in texas

hello there! i am not sure if i can help you because i am not familiar with LVN. i am in an ADN program though.. i did not take the NET but i did take the HESI A2 Test. as long as you devote a lot of time reading the materials, you will be fine. you can search the net for study guides for the NET i guess.

i assume you are in san antonio...im not a big basketball fan,, i have no life because of nursing school and having a toddler takes a lot out of me;) but do not get me wrong i am loving nursing school because it is very callenging and i know whatever hardship we are having it will be well worth it...

so if you have any ? just pm me....
