Hi,
We just moved to the Chico- Paradise- Orville area. My boyfriend and I just relocated to California from Oregon. So far we are loving it!
We are looking forward to making new friends, to hang out with. I just wanted to say hi to everyone and hopefully make some new friends!
**Also any tips on how to get hired at the Enloe Medical Center, Feather Rivers Hospital or Orville Hospital, are greatly appreciated! ( As I have applied for all hospitals w/ no luck ):
Thanks,
SunRayRN

Welcome to sunny nice old California!
It really depends on your situation. If you are a new grad, good luck! If you are an experienced nurse, keep applying. Try applying a little further outside your range. Get a job, and then you can eventually transfer later.
Nice to "meet" you!
Thanks perioddrama :)
I do have close to 2 years of experience. I keep seeing Enloe has positions for only internal applicants..
Do you know if they are financially struggling? I'm not really familiar with the area yet but I also heard they were opening a new tower ( for inpatients) not sure if it's been opened yet or not...
Just curious when you say "try applying further outside of your range" what do you have in mind?
I am willing to commute that's no problem.
Thanks for your advice and nice meeting you too!! :)
I'm not from around that area, so I couldn't help you. You can try to look for news articles to see if anything pops up about Enloe. It's a long shot, but it's worth a shot.
Nurses are having a tough time finding jobs, even if one is experienced. No joke. So sad, but it's true.
So, try to apply outside your Chico- Paradise- Orville area.
Good luck job hunting with the rest of us!
And don't forget to make some time to sight-see!

Hi SunRayRN!
My husband and I also recently relocated to Chico, from Southern CA. I graduated nursing school in May and got hired here last month at a pediatric daycare facility. We might actually need another RN, so maybe you could try applying to my work in the meantime? I am also trying to get a job at Enloe or Feather River, with no luck so far. We should meet up sometime, as I also don't know anyone else in the area.
