Hello ALL!!

Published

This is my first post ever, I have been a member of all nurses for about 5 months now and I decided to post now and wish you well on this semester!!! A little about me, I am 22 years old-- I have always wanted to pursue a degree in nursing but I always doubted myself. I have been going to school since I graduated in 2012 every semester changing my mayor, I was a semester away from obtaining my Phlebotomy certification and said what the heck this isn't what I want to do and ended up in pre-nursing again. Being young and Naive i didn't take my classes seriously at all and ended up flunking, dropping or withdrawing classes. I took a year off and decided it was time to go back, this time around I was working 2 jobs and had little to no time to do work outside of class which caused me to withdraw from my classes. I took a semester off while I figured out what I wanted to do. I decided that school was more important than working, besides when I'm a nurse (hopefully) i won't have to work 2 jobs! My job notified me that because of the state budget cuts I would lose my a big part of my hours. I saw this as a blessing in disguise and immediately signed up for a summer course. Because of flunking and withdrawing so many times my GPA dropped and FAFSA wouldn't cover my class so I paid out of pocket and I'm glad to say I passed my class with an A. I had to appeal to my financial aid and thankfully I was approved to take 6 credits. So here I am, I start school Thursday and I will be taking Sociology and Life Span development. I've learned my lesson and now I have to work extra hard to boost my GPA and I'd do all it takes. A note to all if you are not serious about school please take a break until you figure out what it is you want to do or not you will be in my same predicament and working really hard to fix your mistakes. Remember you can't ever erase anything off your transcript!

Hi have you tried applying for an academic renewal?

I actually never heard of such a thing, I've just been retaking those courses. I will definitely look into it. Thank you!!!
