Having trouble finding a preceptor? Let's see what we can do

Published

Hi,

I am Chrissy, a current online student at South University in the Adult NP program, with only 2 more classes to go before graduation. The biggest feat in these online programs is finding your own preceptor. You all know just as well as I do that former alumni have utilized preceptors, but we just don't know where these preceptors are because they fail to share this information. Those preceptors in particular, if they precepted once, they will be more likely to precept again.

If you are in the NC area, I may be able to help. Other areas you can Google your local area AHEC and look on the site for the internship/student coordinator and they will send you a list of available preceptors in the area.

Good luck!

Your school doesn't have a database of past and currently credentialed sites and preceptors? Did you ask your credentialing office about this? Does your school have a list of alumni that they can help you with? At least then you could contact them and start networking with those in your area.
