Having a hard time finding a new job!

I have been looking for a new position with 12 hour shifts for the last two months. My background is mainly in outpatient as a GI nurse for 4 years, and now I work in a doctor's office, and I have been here for about 9 months. I have applied for a variety of positions including case management, short stay units, med-surg, mother baby, and PCU. Out of all the interviews, I was offered a job in the PCU, which I declined for various reasons. Now I want to know if I have the skills to get a job in the PCU, how come I am having trouble getting another offer? Any ideas to help me find a new position?:o

It may be that many units have hired new grads and are now in the process of orienting them. For example, if a new grad graduates in May or June, they may not be able to start work until they have taken and passed the NCLEX, depending on the state. In my hospital, new grads are just now starting and getting oriented.

You may have better luck later on in the fall.

Best of luck!
