Hi all, I'm planning on moving to the Quakertown area in the spring. I know that I will likely have to commute to Philadelphia, or at least Allentown, either doesn't make a difference to me because I drice 45 mins to work now anyway. I'm trying to get an idea of what type of pay rate I can expect from the area. I will have 2 full yrs Level 2 Trauma Ctr ER experience as a RN, BSN by the time I move. I know most places pay based on experience and certifications etc. If any of you work (or have worked) at any of these hospitals, can you please given me an idea of what the rates are (human resources refuse to discuss pay rates until you come for an interview, which is a costly process when ur coming from out of state). I've been looking at :

Lehigh Valley Hospital

St. Lukes

Abington Memorial

St. Mary's

Temple

Hahnemann

Thomas Jefferson

Roxborough Memorial

Frankford

you guys get the picture. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'm in the greater Philly area, but I've never worked in the city. However, from what I know, Hahnemann is the best choice of those you listed. Abington is in a very nice area, but you won't see as much "action" there.

i go to st luke's school of nursing, and ive been to their allentown, bethlehem, and quakertown campuses.. its a really nice hospital. i actually really like the quakertown campus, its small but its actually really laid back and a nice place to work. id try to get into one of the hospitals in lehigh valley area, because the commute to philly can be killer.. in theory it may be a 45 minute drive with traffic, but there is always traffic and it can end up being an hour and a half. good luck!
