Q A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan is prescribed for a patient with a suspected brain tumor, which prescription does the nurse perpare to administer to the pt before the procedure?
Answers;- A An Opiod
B A sedative
C A coticosteroid
D An antihistamine
What is the correct answer please let me. Never seen a quesiton like this before.THANKS.

Sedatives are given to reduce anxiety. During the procedure, one must refrain from moving. Claustrophobics would benefit from sedatives if they undergo a MRI scanning.

i would chose sedatives because of the same reason given above: claustrophobia.. I think brain tumor is just a "distractor" in this question.. although if the question had an option of an anti-convulsant (anti seizure) med..i wud have chosen that.. i cud be wrong though!!
