Micro is really just indepth chemistry meets biology. If you do not have a strong background in general chem and intro bio it will be a very challanging course. However a lot of what you learn in micro will also apply to future courses like biochemistry and physiology. Take a breath and slow things down, don't just study from the lecture notes. Find your learning style then apply it to the material. Best wishes!

I really liked micro, but I was blessed with a great professor. I found that recording lectures help a lot. Get the notes down that you can while in class, go back review the recording and fill in the holes in your notes. Before a test listen to the recording again, pay paricular attention to how the professor is discussing things, does he/she emphasize anything that might be especially important (maybe might show up on a test), if there is anything you don't understand from lecture look it up in your text or google it, youtube it. Use all your resources! But stick to the material he covers in lecture, don't waste your time on things they dont cover.

Micro is one of those subjects that depend on teacher in my opinion because it can get real dry at times.
