Has anyone ever had to repeat a class during NS?

I posted this on the student's board, but no replies as of yet. Maybe here I will get some feedback.

Yes! Assessment. And my manager failed the first time at NCLEX. Many others I know failed classes. And they are all nurses now.

I haven't yet, but I think I'm about to. I have to get a 90 on my med admin test to pass the course and we get three tries. I got an 87 the first try and an 80 the second try. My third one is coming up and I'm really terrified because if I don't pass this class I can't go onto the next one. I am trying to stay positive though, because I'm sure that will help me pass.

I have known people who have failed classes and I will tell you what I am trying to tell myself: It isn't the end of the world and you just have to keep on plugging no matter what. If it something that you love and really want to do you will get through it, despite any set backs.

I failed pharmacology and I failed NCLEX once.

Don't sweat it! Failing doesn't make you any less of a person or nurse. Plus, really I feel much stronger in pharmacology because I took it twice. (I wouldn't recommend it though. LOL)

Thank God no, it would have done me in. I obsessed over the two B,s I got in school. Anything else and I might have slit my throat. To this day chemistry and pharmacology math leave a bad taste in my mouth and memory.

No (and hopefully I won't), but I know people who have. Nursing school is tough, so it happens pretty often.

Some of the best RNs I know failed a class...

hopefully I will be one of the best RN's

Yes! Assessment.

:yeahthat:

Me too, me too! Glad to know someone else did too! I survived, graduated, passed my boards, and here I am.

I think most schools only let you repeat one class though, if you fail or make a D a second time, you're out. I transferred to a different school, and the D I made at UA counted against me, not just on my GPA but as my strike, at UL too.

It'll be ok! Hang in there.
