GWU Accelerated BSN Fall 2018

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread about GW's application process for Fall 2018. The deadline is Oct. 15th and was wondering if anyone knew how long it takes to get a response. I unfortunately, haven't finished all my pre reqs but will have all of them done by the end of spring semester. I am currently taking micro and dev. psych. Taking stats in the spring. I'm just nervous about not having them all completed. I do have a 4.0 in the ones that are done. Anyone else in the same boat?

The priority deadline was Oct 15, but the final deadline isn't until Jan 15.

I'm planning to call admissions for more information, but I know they don't require all prereqs to be complete to apply. They probably put priority on the science prereqs (Anatomy, Physio, Micro) being complete, but as far as I know you just have to make sure you finish all prereqs before actually starting at GW.

I submitted my application by the October 15th deadline and I am currently taking Microbiology. I don't think it should be an issue, especially if you have a few science pre-reqs completed so they can see some of your science grades. I am so curious when we will hear something. Let me know if anyone finds out!

Thank you!! Good luck to you both!

I just got an email today saying my application is under final review and I should hear back in 4-6 weeks!

That's so awesome!!! No word here yet, unfortunately but hopefully soon. Good luck! Keep us posted :)

Good morning All!!! I have applied for the program as well and I would be lying if I said I wasn't in freak out mode awaiting this decision. Anyone else heard anything or made contact with GW??

I am in feeling the same so you are not alone!! I heard back last Tuesday that mine went to final review. I know it'll take until probably December though so don't worry! Keep us all posted on your progress!

Hi everyone, I applied for the priority deadline as well. I went to the info session yesterday and they said we should be hearing a decision in 1 to 2 weeks...with thanksgiving though I'm going to personally assume it will be two weeks. Good luck to you all!

Exciting! Hopefully we will hear something soon! Did you learn anything else important/interesting at the info session? If I didn't live in Nashville, I would have loved to make it to session!

Just wondering if anyone has received any acceptances yet? From other posts, I realize with the Thanksgiving holiday it may not be until this upcoming week. Just anxious to get a decision. I attend undergrad in NC so I have not been able to attend any of the info sessions. Would like to do a tour over my Christmas break while I am home in PA. Anyone attend the info sessions? Is there any info that you can share about the program and housing? Will need to find a roommate or 2 and I am not sure if GW has a roommate assistance program or if you are left to find someone on your own. Any info would be a definite help.

It seemed as though it was a very supportive environment, which I really liked. The Virginia campus is tiny (the main campus is in DC but nursing classes are in Virginia), it's like two buildings, so not too much to see, but the facilities are new and really great. First semester is very very tough but they said once you get through that it lightens up (a bit) after that. I wrote down which clinicals are when and for how many hours, but I don't have that handy. They didn't say much about housing except that many students choose to room with other students. There aren't dorms or anything for the Virginia campus. They *try* to place you in clinicals near-ish to where you live but can't guarantee that of course. Traffic around this area is a bit hideous just to warm you, other than that it's a wonderful place to live, I've been here all my life. :-)

Thanks so much for all the info. Would love to have the clinical info if and when you have time. I signed up for the online info session in Dec. If I get accepted, I plan to make a day trip from PA during my Christmas break. Going through a grueling fall semester now. Will be doing my Microbio course online during break and then only 8 crs during Spring. Woo Hoo! I can almost see undergrad graduation! Not looking forward to another tough semester next fall but if it tapers off from there, I can get through it. Since you live in that area, any suggestions on apartments nearby. My mom lived in Rockville/Silver Spring/Gaithersburg years ago so she has told me about the traffic. I would want something very close to campus. Any other suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks Again!
