what do you guys think about this?

i am a new PN grad and recently applied for a tele position at a hospital near my home... it is a weekend special so the pay is wonderful and more than i expected to make at a hospital as a new grad... well i went on 3 interviews... 1 with human resources, 1 with the unit coordinator (who btw gave me a pharm quiz which i aced) , and 1 with the department head. to me the interview went pretty well and i got a phone call a few days later asking for a phone number of one of my clinical instructors for a reference. They also called my present boss for a reference...well both references were good. but...it's almost 2 weeks later and i haven't heard a thing... the dept head told me that the hiring process takes a long time... does it usually take this long to offer the position? and do they always let you know yes or no? i'm interviewing at other places but this job is definitely my first pick and i'd hate to accept another job only to have them finally call.....

I would not hesitate to call the department head or director and ask if you are still in the running for the postion.

Congratulations! Sounds as if you have some great interviewing skills. I would definitely be giving them some regular calls and if you have to, keep reminding them how "right" you are for that position!!

I hope you have some other possible positions "in the works"?

Good luck! Let us know what happens!

This is how they hire people now. They interview 10 people as much as possible for the position and picking the best of the rest. If I were you, apply as much anywhere you want. Grab the opportunity whenever you can.
