Gre Study help

I am thinking of taking the GRE this year. I can take in Oct or Dec. How much time did you spend studying and what materials did you use? How bad is the test? I was going to take it years ago for social work, but psyched myself out. I am now interested in obtaining my CNM and will need it for the program I am interested in. What exactly does the test consist of? Written portions as well?

Thanks!

Hi! I spent about three months studying. I would try to do 1.5 hours during the week, and maybe 2-3 hours on the weekend. I used a few study books, like Princeton Review and Manhattan GRE for the math part. I also downloaded an iPhone vocab app and did that frequently throughout the day. I didn't think it was all that bad, but I made sure I was prepared. The hardest part for me was the math. The verbal and writing sections were easy for me, but I enjoy reading and writing so I wasn't too nervous about those sections.
