Got an interview!!!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I just got my letter telling me I have an interview for school! YAY!!!!

However, I am kind of confused. My interview is scheduled for 9:30 am on the 12th, but then it says, "A group informational meeting will take place prior to your individual interview, so please be present at 7:45 am. You will need to plan on at last 2-2 1/2 hours for the session, paperwwork, & interview.

Did anyone else have a similar experience? I had read somewhere on this board that if you get the interview you are basically a shoe in, but I have heard for this school it is not true because they interview everyone who passed the entrance test. Anyways, the letter said they are wanting to learn more about my educational goals....this is an LPN program, an I am kind of scared that I tell them I am wanting to seek my RN after about a year in the field they will boot me. Anyways, I just wanted to share my news with someone.

Congrats on your interview!!! :balloons:

I just got a call today for an interview at one of the schools I applied to! I am really excited, I was not expecting a response for a while and my NET scores made me a little nervous! But out of the blue today, I got a call, and I am really excited! I actually logged on to find the sticky about interviews.

I would not worry that you are going to seek your RN after your LPN, every hospital needs nurses no matter what letters you have at the end of your name. Any further education is always a good thing, you are ambitious with goals in mind and there is nothing wrong with that!

Good luck on your interview! You will do great! :)

Hi,

It doesn't seem like a bad idea at all to tell them that once you become an LPN that you want to start working as a nurse and to continue your pursuit of your nursing education.

That is seen as a positive,(everywhere I read and hear and see), and also as a natural progression.

There is a big 'step-ladder' continuum and starting as LPN, working as one and continueing to study is very natural.

Heck, I might even want to emphasize how this IS just what you hope to do and let them know that the LPN portion would be seen as a wonderful beginning and how enthused you are to actually start!!

p.s. congrats and good luck!!

Congratulations on the interview, Navywife. I received my acceptance letter on Friday and I know how you feel. As far as the information meeting, I have no clue, we didn't have anything like that. Good luck though, from an Armywife(ret) :)

One of the colleges I had an interview with, we had to go to a group information session about a week before our actual interview. They went over the entire schedule, so we knew before our interview if we would be able to attend (some could only attend nights, some only days, etc.). They went over all aspects of the program, expectations, etc.

I had a personal interview a few days later, and had come up with many questions in that time. Ultimately, I was accepted at that school and another, and I chose the other one, but having the information session helped to see what the different programs entail.
