Can anyone tell me if Good Sam offers a relocation package for new grads and how much?

Not sure if this is a new grad program but they offer $3000 and you need to move to the downtown or central phoenix areas, but at least they have a program. :)

I just recently moved to Arizona within the past 3 weeks due to Good Sam. I liked the hospital alot, if you move from out of state, you get a 5000 relocation package, and in addition, if you move within certain zipcodes (mostly central phoenix area), you can get an extra 3000 for a total of 8000 bucks. And you have to give one year for the first 5000, and another for the next 3000. They seems to have openings on every unit from ICU's to telemetry to OB, and probably the ER also.

Boy, it's nice to know that Good Sam is doing their part to encourage people to live closer to work. Traffic here in Phoenix is a growing problem (heck, it's always been a problem). I'm happy to see that they're giving incentives to get people downtown. There's some great neighborhoods and wonderfully unique houses in the central core. Let us know how you like the area.

Hey Boomer! Finally, someone acknowledged that the Central Phoenix area has some great neighborhoods! I live in North Central Phoenix (near Glendale and Central Aves) - one of the zip codes covered by the Good Sam relo program. My neighborhood includes everything from apartment houses up to Senator John McCain's "estate." So there is something in all price ranges. And the Madison School District is consistently rated as one of the best...whatever that means! It is a shame that people think Central Phoenix and automatically rule out the area - my wife commutes to downtown Scottsdale in 20 minutes, and we only have to fill up our vehicles every two weeks or so...
A doc friend of ours lives in the neighborhhod NW of Glendale and Central. It's a 1950's 2800 sqft home in a great neighborhood. His kids grew up and became doctors too so the schools should be fairly good. Today, some of these homes are being flattened and rebuilt with incredible price appreciation!
You are right about that. My wife and I live on one of the few "affordable" streets left between 7th ave and 7th Street. House just sold for almost $400,000 (a mold-infested wreck) and then it was leveled within a month for a brand new home. Very different than Anthem, where my folks live.

I was offered 2k in relo in April for an instate move. Ask them to go expempt on that check as they took taxes out and it was almost 800! If you're a new grad be vigalant in your traiing. I kept asking questions and usually got an "I don't know", asked to be paired with people who like to explain and they refused, and then a manager rode me about not identifying a rhytm she didn't identify correctly and not running the whole situation when my first crash was going on. Oh, and make sure you have your rooms in neat order and no papers on your desk or you'll be ridden for that, too. I left after feeling so unsupported and picked on.
