Apartments around campus can get expensive. If I were u I'd call an apartment locater. There are nice areas not far away that have tons of apartments. The Hulen area is not far away and there are several complexes there. By the way, where are u moving from? Good luck!
NE louisiana...I can't wait, no more bedside nursing. thanks for the help. What about stonegate villas?

Responses to cfarley's question will be helpful to me also, since I'll be moving to the Fort Worth area from Southern California. My boyfriend works at Parkland ED in Dallas, so I'm looking for a safe area about 20 mins max (with traffic) from Fort Worth. I don't want to be too far away from school, and a 20 minute commute from my apartment to my boyfriend's place is a heck of a lot better than a 3 hour plane flight.:redbeathe I enjoy cycling and running, so if there is an area with a lot of trails/bike routes, that would be spectacular.

Cfarley, where in NE LA are your clinicals?
i live in west monroe, but clinicals will be in baton rouge. So I get the joy of moving twice. But hey, i'll do what i got to do for that degree. Whats loans are ya'll gonna take out? When I was at TCU they suggested living as close to campus as possible.

Californianurse, you might want to look into moving to North Arlington by River Legacy park. There are some nice apartments and you will be right next to some great trails. I lived there when I needed to live between Dallas and Fort Worth. You could do the midcities area but I always thought living near I-30 was better than doing battle on 183.
As far as living in Fort Worth there are some options. If you have dogs you can always rent one of the house near TCU. They can cost a lot if you live right next to TCU but there are some that are close that aren't bad. J
Stonegate is very nice. Calif nurse should look there too, cuz there r a lot of trails through there.
I just resigned from Parkland. Where does your BF work? I'm sure u will enjoy being closer.
Thanks for the input fancypants! (love the name) I was thinking about the Arlington area, but haven't explored it yet. I may be coming out in the beginning of March, and I'm going to check out possible cities during my next visit.
Neurogeek: I am still so happy for you getting into school. Thanks for the tip on Stonegate Villas. The name itself is pretty cool! My BF is a first year EM resident there and is in the ED for this month. He's the only Cali resident. I cannot tell you how happy we are to be closer together! We talk about it every day. I still don't have my clinical site from TWU yet, so I may only be there for one year and have to move again. But at least we will be closer for one year. Carpe diem.

A lot can change in a year. Don't worry about it. Wherever you go, you'll enjoy it and it'll be a great experience!
