GGHSON Fall 2019

Hello I was wondering if anyone is applying for the Fall 2019 semester?

Hello, I also applied to Texas Tech University, Elpaso- accelerated nursing program. This is my first time applying though the Nursing CAS, it was pretty tough to finish the application process. My transcript got just verified yesterday.

Wow really? When did you submit? I submitted prob that last week since I waited to take my Hesi but I had started my app a month before so my transcripts on the nursing cas got verified before I submitted although I received an email from Texas tech they received my supplemental items and to wait for an email saying if we were selected for interviews

That's good for you, Mine got verified after the deadline, but I think once Nursing CAS received the transcript before the deadline, it should be fine!

How was Hesi?

hesi : 88.57

gpa :3.88

science gpa : 3.75

I have no experience in health .But I just finished c.n.a program and BLS license..

I am super worried since I appplied to only this school.

I had emailed asking what they consider for the hesi and I went to get advised she said to get at least 75 in each area and that the sciences are very imp, a&p and bio and chem ...I think as long as you submit b4 deadline it will be fine I’ve know another girl that also had hers verified after idk why but we are all getting diff emails although she called and they told her not to worry...

hesi was 86

science gpa: 3.75

overall: 3.6

I have a previous bachelors and yr experience in nursing home and 6 month experience in UMC hospital in the l&d shadowing nurses..

i think the CNA certification should be good experience! I’m so nervous too I’m applying to another one but the deadline isn’t closed yet, although this is my number one choice of nursing school, I get so nervous bcuz I know ppl who applied last semester and got denied bcuz their hesi scores! She got an 88 but did low on her a&p and her conclusions section, that’s when I realized they look at certain sections, I also had a lot of ppl in a class who applied to this program and got interviews but got rejected bcuz of her conclusions section in the hesi, which got me so confused

*Your CNA certification

my a&p is low.. :(

80.

Biology was 88. chemistry 96.. conclusions 90, but

I have very low in implications..

:( I wish i can take HESI again.

I think they are good! When I went she only mentioned conclusions a&p bio and chem...I think they are good! So don’t worry! You need a 75 on each to be competitive, and don’t wish that actually The more times you take it the more it affects you :/

You know it also depends on how many ppl apply and how good or bad they do on their hesi too there is a lot of factors although I do think hesi is a big part, that’s what worries me it seems as though a lot of ppl now want to be nurses so I’m afraid of the number of seats available and ppl applying :(((

And by low I mean less than a 75

Do you know how many people applied?

  • Author

No I don’t :/ I’ve seen in other threats though that there’s usually between 70 to 80 seats saved I should call and ask about the seat availability..also one of the advisors told me usually fall semester is when more ppl apply, In my mind I get so nervous bcuz I start thinking everyone has these super high scores and that there is a lot of ppl although I try to calm down...I know from a friend that got in for the spring 2019 that they accepted 72 they had said 70 and that they actually put ppl on the waiting list which I didn’t know existed..she also said she noticed they accept more ppl during the fall since more ppl apply
