Getting Started 12/22

Published

So, I finally am on the second step for my 2-Step TB, so orientation is Monday and Tuesday. Im so frickin excited. Now because I went through Orientation once already in October, I know thatw e start off with about an hour lecture as far as rules, protocol, and everything else with the Dean. Then we take pictures for our ID Badges (Dont get them Until 1st Day). Then we set up our ATI accounts. Never knew about ATI until now. Followed by measurements and 3 hours worth or even more important stuff. Not sure why its 2 days this time but im ready. We get our books 1st day and scrubs 3 weeks in. Until then I get to have fun scrub shopping! Not sure what supplies is needed but Im sure they will tell us, so I wont ask. Just sharing my excitement! Today was our deadline and im so happy that they are giving me until Monday to get my shot read. Im getting nervous. My stomach is in my feet. Im 19 so I wonder if Ill be able to make it, but Im sure I will! My only concern is dividing the time between my studies and my 9 month old son. Ill work it out though. Just know theres gonna be alot of reading, studying, cursing and notetaking. Gosh this is big for me ?? Feel free to share your excitement as well!

Congratulations! The most important advice that I can give you first and foremost is to have numerous backup plans for childcare. Your instructors are not going to want to hear about some sob story about your baby getting sick or no childcare. Miss too many clinicals or classes equals you get dropped from the program. Stay focused, get extremely organized if you are not, put you and your child on a schedule, I had to go through LPN school with kids and it was tough. We had to be in bed early so I could get up in the middle of the night to study. It was brutal but it is possible, speaking from experience. Hopes this helps.

Thank you....ill reevaluate my child care plans and work on his sleep schedule. Hes at 12:30/1am right now
