Getting started

Published

Hello everyone,

I am a newly licensed nurse, but not a recent grad. I hold a BSN degree but it took sometime before I am able to accomplish attaining my nursing license. Now that I am licensed, I am hoping to get an input from anyone about the right steps to take to get started with my career. I have looked into nurse refresher programs and spoke to a program coordinator. According to the professor the nurse refresher program is for inactive licensed nurses who are planning to re-activate their license. I am looking to update my nursing skills, update my knowledge about nursing practice. She (the professor) suggested that I speak to a nurse recruiter to get an idea on where to get started.

I would appreciate your input. I am very excited! I intend to be an effective and safe care giver as a nurse.

Sincerely,

Gladys

How many years has it been since you graduated? 2 or 20? That makes a lot of difference.

I would look to anywhere that would give you a chance: expand your job search to include anything/everything in your area and if you can relocate, apply elsewhere too.

Hello. Thanks for responding to my posting:). I will be doing that. Unfortunately, relocating is not an option right now.

Thanks so much!
