Getting sponsored by my job

Published

Hi

I would like to share my timeline for getting sponsored for PERM (permanent residency/green card). I work in a hospital in Texas. I am currently in the US with TPS, which is similar to DACA.

August 2020 - I started working as a nurse at this facility.

June 2022 - Took me a while but I asked about sponsorship at the HR office and the process started.

July 2022 - Application of Paid Wage Determination submitted to the Department of Labor

February 2023 - PWD returned. Job had to post a notice for 30 days.

March 29, 2023 - I-140 sent USCIS with premium processing

April 12, 2023 - I-140 approved.

I am thankful for the opportunity and know there are others in my shoes so thought I would share my experience. ?

Hi, what is your priority date? I'm doing the Adjustment of Status. Basically, i140 & i485 were filed concurrently in Jan. 2023. i140 was approved on April 25, 2023 (not premium processing). Just because of the visa retrogression, I am still waiting until the immigrant visa (EB3) becomes current.

@hypnotizer90 where were you born?

PH. But it looks like regardless of chargeability, EB3 visa is currently on retrogression/backlog. However, my i131 (Travel) & i765 (Employment Authorization) has been approved so I could exit the US.
